9/7/08 1 CommentDragonCon 2008
Last weekend (Labor Day weekend) my best friend from middle school Erin, her fiance, and I went to DragonCon. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is basically a sci-fi convention but almost anything pop culture goes. We had a blast. There is no way I can sum up the entire weekend in a blog, so here are the highlights.
On Saturday we dressed up in costume (a majority of attendees dress up).
I was dressed as a vampire ballerina from the novel Danse Macabre, part of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Erin was dressed at the main character Anita. Her boy Justin went as Alex from Clockwork Orange. At the Con we were stopped multiple times all day long for people to take pictues of Justin because they like his costume so much. He was like a mini celeb.
Speaking of Laurell K. Hamilton, I went to her autograph session that afternoon.

When we first got there on Saturday morning we had just enough time to check in and get our badges and then it was time for the parade. Yes there is a parade. There were so many cool costumes. I took over 100 pics just of the parade. (Yeah that was probably a bit much lol). Here are a couple of my favorite.

We also did plenty of shopping in the dealer rooms and met a ton of really cool people. Like this guy:
He was hanging out at a table for the band Cruxshadows, which I highly reccommend. I've been jamming to their newest album all week.So that was the Cliffnotes version of the weekend. But I had a fabulous time and I am looking forward to next year. : )

8/22/08 1 CommentFirst Week of Work
The first week of work was rough. lol Luckily I found time to go take class at a new studio twice this week so that definitely helped out with easing some of the stress. I feel so behind on the board! I have a lot of reading to do! : )
Loyal Love!

8/9/08 1 CommentGraduation!
I graduated today with my Masters degree! I'm definitely excited to be done. But honestly after my first day of work on Friday I think I might go back and get my Ph.D and be a professor. lol Well see.
Anyway here are some pics. The first three are of me walking across the stage at the ceremony.
This is a picture of my hood, which you get to distinguish you from the other degrees.
In the parking lot afterwards.
And lastly, on the balcony of my apartment (which I turned in the keys for today).

And to express my joy over being finished (for the moment) here's a couple of Criss pics. : )

8/7/08 0 CommentsTest and First Day
Well I took the first part of four of the cpa exam yesterday. I honestly have no idea whether or not I passed. But I'm glad to have one down (for the moment at least!).
Tomorrow is the first day of work, so I'm doing the last minute review of all my forms that I have to turn in tomorrow. Not fun, but at least you don't have to do that every day. lol
Hope you all have a great evening! : )

8/5/08Well....
I woke up this morning and the eight hundred dollar fairy hadn't visited me so I guess I definitely won't be going to the interview. I'm definitely bummed, but I'm trying to get over it. lol
I hope that all who are able to attend have a great time and say hi to Criss for me. : )
